The different cut-outs allow a stone to be visually compared with the corresponding shape and size on the template.

How to Use

Place the diamond or gemstone over the corresponding shape opening and compare its dimensions with the template. Move between the graduated openings until you find the closest match.

This provides a quick approximate size/carat reference and is particularly useful when an immediate visual estimate is required.

The ruler along the edge can also be used for basic measurements in centimetres and millimetres.
