The SmartPro Screen-I is a portable professional diamond verification and screening instrument designed to screen colourless to near-colourless diamonds and help distinguish natural diamonds from HPHT and CVD lab-grown diamonds.

Designed for diamonds in the D–J colour range, the Screen-I can test stones from 0.01 ct up to 12 ct. It can also screen mounted diamonds where the jewellery setting has an open hole beneath the stone, making it suitable for both loose stones and compatible mounted jewellery.

Although manually operated, the Screen-I provides an automatic test result in approximately 3 seconds, indicated by bright LED lights and audible signals. A Smart Touch Test Switch and laser target pointer help position and test stones accurately, while the high-efficiency, mercury-free LED light source requires no warm-up time.

The SmartPro Screen-I is designed to screen earth-mined natural diamonds (Types Ia and Ib) from HPHT / CVD lab-created diamonds (Type IIa) within the D to J colour range.

It accommodates an exceptionally broad stone-size range of 0.01–12 carats, making it useful for everything from very small diamonds to considerably larger stones.

The instrument can also be used with compatible mounted jewellery, provided there is an open hole underneath the mounted stone to allow correct testing.

The Screen-I is a diamond screening/verification instrument. Screening instruments are used to flag stones for further testing where appropriate and should not be presented as a substitute for complete gemmological identification or an independent laboratory report.

The Screen-I is manually operated but automatically determines and displays the test result. Each measurement takes approximately 3 seconds.

Its laser target pointer assists with positioning, while the Smart Touch Test Switch and automatic testing function simplify routine screening. Results are communicated using bright LED indicators and audible sounds, allowing the operator to identify the indicated result quickly.

Because the LED light source requires no warm-up period, the Screen-I is ready for testing without a lengthy start-up procedure.

The SmartPro Screen-I can be powered in two ways:
